FAJA ALTERATION OPTIONS & ADD-ONS

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE HOURGLASS AND THE 360 SIGNATURE ALTERATIONS?

The Hourglass alteration targets your waist, mid and upper back, as well as your stomach above the belly button. The 360 alteration encompasses all of the above areas and provides additional compression in the lower abdomen/FUPA.

ADDRESSING CREASING IN THE FAJA WAIST - HOW TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE?

Creasing in the waist area is a common occurrence and is often observed in fajas with bra straps. The lack of support from the bra straps often leads to inadequate pulling up of the back of the faja, resulting in annoying creasing. This is one of the reasons why we personally prefer fajas with thick straps. Another common cause of creasing is when the torso of the faja is too long. We can assist you by shortening the faja torso to address this issue. A third common cause is when the stretchy fabric of the faja designed for the booty extends too far up your back, causing a crease above the booty.

Although creasing can be frustrating, it is not a cause for concern, and it will not leave any permanent indentations on your body. If the creasing becomes painful, it is recommended to remove the faja. However, some discomfort is normal, especially since the sides are often sensitive areas after liposuction.

To improve the appearance and feel, you can place lipo foams or small rectangular boards on each side under the creases. Tightening the straps as much as possible can also help, although it may cause discomfort on the shoulders. It is important to remember that no faja is perfect, and everyone's body is different, so we may need to address and find solutions to these issues. One suggestion is to place little socks under each strap for added comfort, or you can use pads or cut one of your old lipo foams into 2" strips to use for strap comfort.

DO I STILL NEED FOAMS & BOARDS ONCE I GET MY ALTERED FAJA BACK?

After four weeks, it is safe to remove any additional stuffings and wear only the faja, along with a bralette or sports bra underneath and stretchy panties. Seamless panties are recommended as they can be easily moved aside for bathroom use. However, this recommendation assumes that your faja is properly compressing you, either because it has been customized to fit your body or because it was already tight-fitting when you received it.

DO YOU FIX HOOKS?

We bend back faja hooks as a complimentary service whenever we notice misshapen hooks. If you need hook replacement services for your faja, we have the ability to replace the hooks upon request. We charge $5 per hook.

DO YOU REMOVE RODS?

Absolutely! The service add-on for the rods is priced at $5 and can be easily reversed. We will include the rods in the return package unless they are irreversibly damaged.

CAN YOU ALTER A STAGE 1 FAJA

Certainly! In fact, many Stage 1 fajas are worth altering since they are already made of Stage 2 material. We call this conversion from Stage 1 to Stage 2. However, there are some Stage 1 fajas that are not worth converting due to their overly thin and stretchy fabric. These include: 1. Mia Aesthetics Stage 1 fajas; 2. Any faja made in China; and 3. Fajas by the brand Marena

CAN YOU SHORTEN THE TORSO ON MY FAJA?

YES! WE PROVIDE TWO OPTIONS FOR TORSO SHORTENING:

  1. TORSO SHORTENING WITH FRONT HOOKS: This option is recommended if you notice the front of the faja overlapping the bottoms of your breasts and/or folding under your breasts.
  2. TORSO SHORTENING IN THE BACK & SIDES ONLY: This option is suitable if the front of your faja ends just below your breasts (as it should), but you experience significant creasing in the back and sides. This is also the only torso shortening option available for fajas with a front zipper instead of hooks.

CAN YOU MAKE ONE OF THE FAJAS I AM MAILING IN TIGHTER SO I CAN USE IT IN A FEW WEEKS?

Certainly! You have the option to select your desired tightness level for each faja you choose to make alterations for within the intake form. This allows for smart pre-planning, especially if you are still within the first six weeks after your surgery, ensuring that you will maintain proper compression consistently.

CAN YOU ADD A ZIPPER TO MY CROTCH?

We do not provide the service of adding zipper crotches to fajas as it can lead to unfavorable results. Many of our clients find the tightness and discomfort caused by zipper crotches undesirable. If your faja does not have a zipper crotch and you add one, it can disrupt the fit of the booty area. We recommend wearing panties underneath for additional coverage. To use the bathroom for bowel movements, you will need to remove the faja, as is the case with most fajas with zipper crotches. There are also risks associated with zipper crotches, such as getting skin caught in the zipper if you are in a hurry, and if it is too tight, it can cause friction burns or discomfort in the crotch area.

CAN YOU REMOVE THE ZIPPER FROM MY CROTCH?

We do not offer the service of removing the zipper from a faja as it would likely damage the garment. If the zipper is removed, it can result in a tighter fit and an awkward appearance where the new seam is placed to replace the zipper. Finding someone who can remove a zipper from a faja designed with a zipper in the crotch correctly is highly unlikely. In such cases, we recommend wearing panties underneath with a pad for cushioning or leaving the zipper open. If these methods do not work, it might be best to consider a faja that does not have a zipper in the crotch and set this particular one aside until you are further along in your recovery and less sensitive.

CAN YOU SEW UP AN OVERSIZED CROTCH?

Certainly! If requested, We are happy to provide this service as a complimentary add-on. Rest assured, we will ensure that there is sufficient room for you to comfortably use the bathroom for urination (not for bowel movements).

CAN YOU MAKE THE TORSO LONGER?

We are sorry, but it is not feasible to achieve that specific alteration. In this case, I suggest exploring brands that are more accommodating for long torsos, such as MariaE or Bling Shapers available on Amazon. Additionally, you can consider using a seamless compression waistband to bridge the gap between the top of the faja and the bottom of your breasts

CAN YOU TURN THICK STRAPS INTO THIN BRA STRAPS OR STRAPLESS?

Unfortunately, the straps are essential for properly securing that style of faja and cannot be altered without significantly compromising the garment.

CAN YOU MAKE STRAPS LONGER?

Please note that we do not offer this particular service, as there is a simple hack available: bra extenders! These extenders are easily accessible in black and tan colors. You can find them at Walmart in the sewing section for approximately $2 per piece. Alternatively, on Amazon, you can purchase a multi-pack for around $5.

If you're referring to thin bra straps, you can find thicker and longer individual bra straps on Amazon as well.

CAN YOU TIGHTEN THE BRA IN MY FAJA?

Absolutely! This service is included in The 360 and The Hourglass services at no extra charge to you. To ensure the perfect fit, we closely examine the photos you provide within the intake form to determine the precise level of tightening required for your bra.

CAN YOU REMOVE THE BUILT-IN BRA?

Unfortunately, the built-in bra serves as the straps of the faja and cannot be changed or altered.

CAN YOU MAKE THE FAJA BIGGER?

Unfortunately, we do not offer a service to make the faja bigger due to potential unfavorable outcomes. If the faja is excessively tight or small, it is recommended to opt for a larger size. When ordering, always consider your hip measurement for accurate sizing. More detailed guidance on sizing can be found in Section III below.

However, if the faja fits but feels uncomfortably tight, we have a suggestion called the "Fabric Softener Soak":

  1. Take a sufficiently large bowl and fill it with warm water.
  2. Add a splash of fabric softener to the water.
  3. Soak either the entire faja or just the specific area causing discomfort (e.g., legs) in the solution for 30-60 minutes. If it is only slightly tight, 30 minutes should suffice. If it is painfully tight, soak for 60 minutes. You can also apply fabric softener directly to a targeted area that bothers you. For instance, if the fabric around the crotch is cutting into your skin, you can brush or apply fabric softener on that area and let it sit for an hour before rinsing it off.

Please note that it is advisable to avoid using fabric softener when washing your faja, as it may cause the fabric to loosen up.

THE LEGS ON MY FAJA FEEL TOO TIGHT/ARE ROLLING UP CONSTANTLY, CAN THEY BE EXPANDED?

Yes, We can make your legs more roomy by using the power-mesh fabric directly from your own faja. This service add-on is priced at $20, which may vary depending on the length of your legs.

MY HIPS FEEL SQUEEZED - CAN YOU EXPAND THE HIPS?

We refrain from widening the hips as it alters the structural integrity of the original faja design. If you find your faja too snug around the hips, set it aside until you've healed further or acquire the appropriate size based on your hip measurement. This typically entails going up one size.

CAN YOU ADD NEW FAJA BOOTY FABRIC OR FIX IT IF DAMAGED?

As we do not carry replacement fabric, it is not possible to make modifications involving replacing fabric. However, if there is a small run or hole in the fabric, it can be fixed. Please note that it must be the size of a green pea or smaller to be fixable. To request this repair, simply indicate your request in the notes field of the order form.

CAN YOU FIX A BOTCHED OR PREVIOUSLY ALTERED FAJA?

We will not undo poorly done alterations, as they are often irreversible and time-consuming to fix, which makes it not worth investing in. If you want to salvage the faja, we suggest having the bad seams undone, hopefully at no cost to you, or carefully undoing them yourself using a sharp tool or seam ripper. This way, we can start fresh with the alteration. However, if the fabric was cut off, please do not undo the seams, as this may irreversibly damage the faja, and it would be advisable to get a new one.

If the faja was altered elsewhere but doesn't appear to have been done too poorly, we can work around the existing alterations using my own techniques. However, please note that my work will be influenced by the initial seamstresses' techniques and symmetry, which may have a negative impact on the final result.

If the faja was previously altered by us, I can always retighten it further in most cases.

COMFY-SNATCHED VS. AGGRESSIVE TIGHTNESS LEVEL?

This selection is 100% preference-based. A large portion of my clientele likes the strongest possible compression in the right places - other clients need things to be less tight.

If you *need* to keep a little extra room for foams/boards or have a physically demanding job (nurse, flight attendant, etc.) - I recommend choosing the "Comfy-snatched" tightness level. You can expect your faja to fit noticeably tighter than before but you will still be able to be comfortable.

If you like the feeling of snatcheness and can handle the tightness (especially the first 3-4 days after getting it back), I recommend going with the "Aggressive".

CAN YOU TURN A STRAPPY FAJA INTO A STRAPLESS FAJA?

We do not offer this service, as it will ruin the structural integrity of your faja. Fajas that are intended to have straps will roll down uncontrollably if turned into a strapless garment, which will be a bad experience for you.

Check out the BDY Ultra High Waisted Faja Shorts if you're looking for a great strapless option.

CAN YOU ADD SLEEVES TO MY STRAPPY FAJA?

We do not offer this service. However, there is a very simple and inexpensive solution if you need arm compression: Go to Amazon and search for "arm compression garment". There are multiple great ones for around $25. No need for anything super fancy for arm compression, the Amazon options will work well and you can just wear them on top of or underneath your faja and when you don't need sleeves - you can still wear your faja for the needed mid-section compression but have the outfit flexibility of no attached sleeves.

If you have more than one faja, simply make sure to add an order to the cart for each garment you're sending to us including corresponding photos for each garment. During the checkout process, you will be able to review all of your selections for each garment. Once you submit your order, you can proceed with shipping the garments to us!

USPS has free of charge flatrate boxes you can use.

HOW DOES THE 50% OFF ALTERATIONS FOR MY BDY FAJA WORK?

Here's how it works: Simply place your order as usual, and you will be charged the full price initially. Don't worry, though, because we'll take care of it. Once we receive your package, we will proceed with the alterations. After confirming your eligibility for the discount, you will receive an email notifying you of the refunded amount.

ARE THERE ANY FAJAS YOU DO NOT ALTER?

We do not alter the Tributo Stage 3 extra high compression faja with the latex layer. We also do not alter the CurvyGyals Waist Eraser faja (built-in waist trainer), as it also has a thick latex layer.

Any other Tributo & CurvyGyals fajas can be altered successfully since those do not have latex.

Aside from those two specific fajas, we alter ALL FAJAS.

WHAT IS YOUR TURNAROUND TIME?

We process faja alterations in the order they are received. Our standard processing time is UP TO 3 business days from the day your faja is delivered.

If you prefer expedited service, choose the 24-hour rush option to move to the front of the line and have your faja altered within 24 hours of receipt. For the fastest service, select express shipping to receive your faja within 2-3 business days after delivery confirmation.

WHEN CAN I MAIL IN MY FAJA FOR THE FIRST TIME?

We recommend sending your faja for alteration at the earliest around 2 weeks post-op, but preferably 3 weeks. During the first 2-3 weeks, your skin is still numb and unable to handle firm compression, so it would not be safe to alter it earlier. It is crucial to take it easy and allow your body to heal during the initial 2 weeks with compression. Additionally, a significant amount of swelling is typically reduced during those first 2-3 weeks. By altering the faja around that time and not sooner, it will maximize the duration of compression provided by the faja you receive from me.

HOW MANY ALTERATIONS WILL BE NEEDED?

We prefer to be quite aggressive with our alterations intentionally, as fajas tend to loosen up slightly within 3-4 days of breaking them in. As a result, most of our clients only require one alteration per faja. In some cases, there might be one additional retightening needed after a month or two, particularly if a significant amount of fat was removed from the midsection during your surgery. This is also why we recommend fajas with 4 rows of hook adjustability, as it extends the duration of the faja staying tight for you. When altering fajas, we always adjust them to fit super-snug on the loosest hook setting

HOW TO STAY COMPRESSED WHILE WAITING TO GET YOUR ALTERED FAJA BACK?

There are a few options for Stage 1 compression garments. You can use stuffed foams, boards, and neatly folded towels. Another option is to have a Stage 2 garment at home (bdyfajas.com) or use an adjustable waist trainer.

CAN I SHIP DIRECTLY FROM AMAZON TO YOU?

No. It is important for you to try on the faja you ordered before sending it to me for alteration. As part of my mail-in instructions, we require seeing the faja on your body. You can provide example pictures within the mail-in intake form for reference. This allows me to assess the fit and make the necessary alterations accordingly.

CAN I SHIP MY FAJA TO YOU PRE-OP?

To ensure safety, we recommend waiting until around 2.5 to 3 weeks post-op before getting alterations. Anything earlier than that is considered too soon for your delicate skin to handle. Additionally, it's important to note that predicting post-op measurements is challenging. While we are open to performing alterations earlier, it's essential to understand that there is a higher level of risk involved in doing so.

WHAT ABOUT YOUR INTERNATIONAL CLIENTS?

We gladly accept packages from anywhere in the world for customizing your faja. The ordering process remains the same, regardless of your location. The only difference is that package delivery confirmation and your invoice will be sent via email instead of a text message.

For international return shipping, UPS is the preferred method, costing slightly under $40 and typically delivering within 2-3 days. It's a fast and reliable option.

We understand that finding fajas in Europe, Canada, and other places can be challenging. Therefore, we can provide guidance on specific fajas to purchase through the American Amazon platform and have them sent directly to me, which usually takes 1-2 days. We will advise you on the correct size to buy for each option we recommend (usually 2-4 options). These are fajas that I have successfully altered for numerous clients in Europe, Canada, and Asia, who were all satisfied with the results. With this option, it will take approximately one and a half to two weeks from the moment you purchase the faja on Amazon to receiving your customized faja.

To request this option, please send me an email by clicking on the email button located at the top right corner of my website. In the email, provide the following information:

  • Waist measurement (at the smallest point of your waist, without squeezing the measuring tape)
  • Hip measurement (at the widest point of your hips/booty, best to do in front of a mirror)
  • Your height
  • Date of your surgery or when it will take place
  • Type of surgery or surgeries you have undergone

We will assist you further based on the information you provide.

CAN I DROP MY FAJA OFF IN PERSON?

We are exclusively a mail-in service, however, local shipping is 1 day - even if you choose regular shipping - so you can still expect a fast turnaround.
